Beijing, May 27 (Reporter Liao Ruiling) Six departments including the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development recently issued the Notice on Further Strengthening the Construction and Management of the Rural Domestic Waste Collection, Transportation and Disposal System (hereinafter referred to as the "Notice"), proposing that by 2025, the level of harmless treatment of rural domestic waste will be significantly improved, and qualified villages will achieve the classification of domestic waste and source reduction.

The Notice emphasized that the construction mode of rural domestic waste collection, transportation and disposal system should be scientifically and reasonably determined based on the distribution of towns and villages, government financial resources, population size, traffic conditions, transportation distance and other factors, with counties (cities, districts, banners) as the unit.

The Notice proposes that in the eastern region, the central and western suburban areas and other basic and conditional areas, the harmless treatment of rural domestic waste will be basically achieved, and a long-term management and protection mechanism will be established; In the regions with good foundation and basic conditions in the central and western regions, the collection, transportation and disposal system of rural domestic waste has basically achieved full coverage, and the long-term management and protection mechanism has basically been established; It is located in a remote and economically underdeveloped area, and the level of rural domestic waste treatment has been improved.

Make full use of the vast space for resource recycling and natural utilization in rural areas, and do a good job in the source classification and resource utilization of rural domestic waste. Pilot projects should be carried out in places with good economic foundation and high public acceptance. Villages in the "waste free city" construction area should take the lead in garbage classification and source reduction.
