In recent years, Gansu Provincial Academy of Environmental Sciences, Liangzhou District Agricultural Ecological Environmental Protection Management Station and Lanzhou Xinrong Environmental Energy Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. have jointly carried out research on key technologies of agricultural and rural organic waste pollution control and resource utilization. At present, they have made positive progress and obvious results in solving the outstanding problem of agricultural waste pollution such as straw and tail vegetable.

Since the research on the key technologies of low carbon industrialization of agricultural wastes with straw, tail vegetable, livestock and poultry manure, domestic sewage and domestic garbage as the main contents, a demonstration base for low carbon industrialization of agricultural organic wastes has been built in Liangzhou District, Wuwei City, with an annual capacity of treating 291000 tons of organic wastes such as straw, tail vegetable, livestock and poultry manure, and an annual output of 180000 tons of solid and liquid organic fertilizer, The annual output of biogas is 23.5 million cubic meters, and the annual power generation is 24.1 million kilowatt-hours. A demonstration base is being built in Anding District, Dingxi City, which can achieve an annual treatment of 80000 tons of agricultural organic waste, an annual production of 2.16 million cubic meters of biogas, an annual power generation of 4.32 million kilowatt-hours of biogas, and an annual production of 3000 tons of biogas residue organic fertilizer.

Organize and carry out key technology training for low-carbon industrialization of agricultural organic waste in the province. From January 6-8, 2023, Gansu Provincial Academy of Environmental Sciences held a training course on the construction of rural ecological revitalization talent team in the province in the way of combining online and offline. The training focused on the utilization of crop straw and tail vegetable resources, plastic film recycling and residual pollution prevention and control. It trained the ecological environment departments at the two levels of 14 cities (prefectures), 86 counties (districts) and more than 1300 towns and townships in the province The person in charge of ecological and environmental protection in the village and more than 16000 full-time and part-time staff were trained.
