At 9:00 a.m. on June 21, 2022, a minibus started from Nanchong Ecological Environment Monitoring Center Station in Sichuan Province and went to Lianchi Water Station in Xichong. The bus was full of teachers and students from North Sichuan Medical College. They were led by technicians from Nanchong Ecological Environment Monitoring Center Station to visit the whole process of automatic sampling, monitoring and analysis of water quality in the Xichong River basin during environmental monitoring.

According to the introduction, according to the unified deployment of the Provincial Department of Ecological Environment, Nanchong Ecological Environment Monitoring Center Station actively responded to the call for environmental protection facilities to be open to the public. Since 2019, the station has opened laboratories, water stations and other facilities more than 20 times, and has received nearly 800 teachers and students, social organizations, urban residents' representatives, etc.

The opening activities actively promoted the values of ecological civilization and the concept of green, low-carbon and environmental protection by means of interesting demonstration, hands-on participation and wonderful interaction.

The Lianchi Water Quality Automatic Monitoring Station in the Xichong River Basin is located in Guanyintang Village, Lianchi Town, Xichong County. The water quality automatic monitoring station was completed in December 2014 and covers an area of 300 square meters. It has undertaken the task of monitoring, evaluating and assessing the outgoing water quality of Xichong County of the Xichong River.

There are 7 monitoring items in the station, including water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, turbidity, ammonia nitrogen and permanganate index. The monitoring frequency is once every 4 hours, * 6 measurements, the effective data volume is 42/day, and the annual data volume provided to the municipal environmental protection department is 15330, which can reflect the water quality status in a timely manner. The automatic water quality monitoring station has been running steadily since its completion, * improving the dynamic monitoring capacity of the water quality of the Xichong River, providing technical support for strict water resource management and promoting the ecological construction of the basin, and playing a huge role in promoting the comprehensive pollution control of the Xichong River.
